Recognition Programs

At MAA, we strive to appreciate and recognize our fellow associates for jobs well done. While there is no shortage of ways to do so, our recognition programs can be divided into two major categories, Formal and Informal.

Formal Recognition

STAR Performance Awards:
Our individual STAR Performance Awards are presented once a quarter and recognize leadership, exceptional performance, and living our Core Values. We also present a number of STAR Performance Awards to entire property teams each quarter, based on property performance data.

Additionally, each February, our leadership team comes together at our Annual Leadership Conference in Memphis. The event culminates with our annual Awards Gala, an evening of celebration, recognizing our property leadership teams for outstanding regional and overall performance in over 20 categories.

Milestone Program:
At MAA, we encourage long term employment and celebrate years of service. While all anniversaries are important, we have identified key milestones for the various components of our milestone program, which include discounts on health insurance premiums, additional PTO, and physical awards.

Informal Recognition

On-the-spot recognition tools also play an important role at MAA. Associates can easily recognize a fellow associate at any time for living our core values in day to day interactions by creating a message on our company's intranet.
